My comments on tutoring Elementary Grammar : I worked at the mathew dickey's boys' club with student's ranging from the 2nd through 6th grade on all subject matters. However, I'm naturally gifted in writing, grammar, physicology, biochemistry and anatomy. Relative to grammar, I was on the journalism team all four years of high school, serving as managaing editor, and sports editor, and was the only writer ot be granted free-lance editorial writing. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children and teens all my life. I was a camp counselor at a YMCA camp for 6 summers in my teens and early 20s. I taught 5th grade my first year (class of 36 students!) and then taught 3rd grade for a year, 2nd grade for three years, and 4th grade for three years--all in public schools. Then I taught English at the middle school level for four years in a private school. After that I subbed and tutored for a year until I was hired to teach in a K-8 building at the 8th grade level. I taught there for nearly 20 years before I retired, teaching science, pre-algebra, and communication arts (English, reading, vocabulary, writing, grammar, and spelling.) While in that position, I was the sponsor of the science fair, building-wide, for nearly ten years. My comments on tutoring Elementary Grammar : I usually don't teach this as a separate subject, but teach this vital skill with general writing, English, and language arts subjects. I do use some drill and proofreading activities to improve grammar skills, as well as oral speaking and creative writing.

Fun Tutor Focusing on Individualizing for each Child's Needs

I have been teaching for 4 and a half years as a third grade teacher in the city of St. Louis. In this position I have created lesson plans and have worked in a whole group setting as well as individually with students.
