I absolutely love working with kids. I believe it is very important for a tutor not to simply tell a student how to do things, but to show them and then through questions and developing a consistent road map make them come up with the answer themselves. As a child of a university professor and preschool director, education has always been a focal point of my life. I began teaching and tutoring during college, both in religious and secular settings. I have taught music, Hebrew and Judaic Studies to 3rd, 6th, and 9th graders. I also spent several months tutoring high school students in math, science, English and history.

I’ve never bought into the argument that some kids just can’t do math. There is plenty of truth that some learn math much quicker and easier than others, but with a good work ethic and plenty of encouragement all kids are capable of learning these sciences. I feel the most important thing to do as a teacher is to stay positive, and try to somehow relate the math problems to real life situations.
