Economics and Portuguese tutor, learn the different way!

I am currently a Master's student in Economic Theory and Policy at the Levy Economics Institute. I have several years of experience with economic theory, practice, econometrics, research and analysis and truly enjoy discussing it. I was a tutor for both economics and Portuguese (my native language) during my undergraduate years.
I like to have very hands-on tutoring sessions with a lot of discussion and where the student and I work together to solve any of the issues at hand. I often connect in-class theory to real life examples, and try to keep things fun and interesting. My approach and background in economics are unorthodox, and thus I will surely help the student see any of the "usual" topics from a new and different perspective.

I am the type of teacher who dedicates herself to learning how my students learn. I teach to my student’s interests and learning styles. As a dedicated teacher I also pride myself into finding different ways to approach my instructions. This includes something simple as using white boards, manipulatives and different types of technology to approach a subject. I give my students clear expectations of student work and participation in every lesson I present. I am not opposed to approaching my lessons differently if the student did not understand the lesson the first time around.
