I hold a variety of Montana teaching edorsements: K-12 Library, 5-12 English, Broadfield Social Sciences (5-12), K-12 Physical Education and Health, and History (5-12). Over the last seventeen years I have primarily taught Language Arts and history classes at the junior high and high school level in a variety of Montana school districts and in one in Nevada. I have also been an assistant and head junior high and high school football, wrestling, and track and field coach.
I believe in having all my students understand that hard work and perseverance will help them achieve passing scores in my classes while exhibiting good moral conduct and behavior. My philosophy of education begins with the students being rooted in the fundamentals of their subject matter and consistently achieving higher competencies as they achieve less strindent content standards.

A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated college with a BA in Human Biology, and I am currently in the transition between undergraduate school and medical school. Throughout my years as an undergrad, I have been heavily involved with teaching/tutoring students - primarily through my participation in the Peer-Led Chemistry Teacher program. As a peer teacher, I developed many skills and abilities which have allowed me to become an effective teacher. I am grateful that I have been able to use my scientific knowledge to help educate others.
I have educated both college and middle school students, and through these experiences I learned that the key to effectively teaching others is patience. I like to take a holistic view to my teaching style and see what the children need out of a teacher. Sometimes I prefer to work visually and hands on, where other times I feel the children learn best from reading and going through the book. I like to be patient and take a more relaxed approach with children so that they feel comfortable with me.
I have worked for the past 6 years with children in school settings. I did a lot of tutoring work during my school counseling internship.
