I believe learning should be a lifelong endeavor and fun. If it is considered a chore, the best results are not often achieved. Involving all the senses in a Montessori-style approach reaches more parts of the brain, and increases the desire to learn more. I earned my Engineering Degree in 1998 and have worked my entire career in that field. A Little Bit About Me...

I hold a variety of Montana teaching edorsements: K-12 Library, 5-12 English, Broadfield Social Sciences (5-12), K-12 Physical Education and Health, and History (5-12). Over the last seventeen years I have primarily taught Language Arts and history classes at the junior high and high school level in a variety of Montana school districts and in one in Nevada. I have also been an assistant and head junior high and high school football, wrestling, and track and field coach.
I believe in having all my students understand that hard work and perseverance will help them achieve passing scores in my classes while exhibiting good moral conduct and behavior. My philosophy of education begins with the students being rooted in the fundamentals of their subject matter and consistently achieving higher competencies as they achieve less strindent content standards.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a science educator I strive to have students build their own knowledge with my guidance. I adhere to the constructivist philosophy of education and in doing so I have designed many lessons with the inquiry approach in mind. This forces students to begin to think for themselves and allows them to take ownership over their learning.
With a bachelor degree in biology and a follow up minor in chemistry i am well versed in both the life and physical sciences. I have educated both college and middle school students, and through these experiences I learned that the key to effectively teaching others is patience. I guide my students but do not do the work for them. Most students have the ability to learn the material being instructed to them. By being patient, I give the students the opportunity to problem solve on their own, which ultimately builds confidence. With more confidence, students seem to learn better. I believe this is the key to mastering any academic subject.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for the past 6 years with children in school settings. I did a lot of tutoring work during my school counseling internship. I tutored 3 different middle school girls who needed help in all subjects. I also helped tutor 9th grade students who failed all of their first semester classes. I have expierence in classrooms teaching from my undergraduate work. I spent a semester accumlating hours, creating and implementing lesson plans. I have a lot of experience with psychology and history as those were my secondary education subjects.
I like to take a holistic view to my teaching style and see what the children need out of a teacher.
