My comments on tutoring Elementary Study Skills : I really enjoy tutoring children, it is very rewarding to me.

I am positive, honest and will give a lot of encouragement. I want those who I am tutoring to feel rewarded while learning, I want to help my "tutorees" to enjoy learning, and build confidence.
Recently began tutoring elementary level math and reading, and am loving it. I have found that I thoroughly enjoy working with the children, and find it very rewarding, and enriching. Everyone learns in different ways so it's important to me that I get to know the students first. That way I can differentiate the lessons for each student. I have also learned that students are more engaged when it's a subject matter that they care about. Of course it's not realistic that this will always be the case. Sometimes you have to learn things that you are not interested in, but approaching these subjects from the way in which the student learns best, based on Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences, can make learning not only possible, but maybe even fun.
