I have a certification of completion in American Sign Langauge from Phoenix College Arizona. I have worked at Phoenix School for the Deaf and Blind. I have been a sign language instructor for the past 10 years. I have been teaching sign langauge level 1 and 2 for Orange County Community College for fours years and also have been teaching sign language level 1, 2 and 3 for a private high school in Poughkeepsie, NY for the past two years. Upon my decision to return to college and obtain my BS degree, it was discovered that I possessed an uncanny, natural talent involving all aspects of the studies surrounding English. Reading, comprehension, symbolism, poetry, creative writing, poise, maturitym ,ect. After that placement exam, it was decided that I did not have to take any English courses, or, I would take more advanced courses. I did choose the latter. Throughout the last 10 years, I have helped my husband, brother, all of my children, etc. I have tutored them on how to write a well developed paper on their topic of choice, and have it read showing the expertise of the writer. We led large volunteer groups sometime of more than 100 people, in local park and forest restoration event, and also led youth groups on 10 day restoration and hiking trips in the national forest. After this I worked for a program that places tutors in schools that are in need, where i tutored K-5 students in reading, led a ESL class of about 10 students, and worked as a teachers assistant in the class room.
