Help With Regents Math/Science

Hello! Is your child struggling with the math and science Regents exams? If so, perhaps I can be of help. I am just getting back into the tutoring scene after being on hiatus for a few years to develop my professional career. I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2013 (current age: 28) with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and by day, I currently work as an industrial engineer in the Horseheads-Elmira area. A Little Bit About Me...

I like children to learn through exploring. This is not to say that I do not teach, but I plan lessons in a way that allows students to learn at their own pace. I feel like if I can put together a lesson that gives children a motivation to learn, they will learn on a deeper level than if I am merely telling them information. With my middle school math students whom I tutored, this meant that we learned about fractions through art. It was not enough to explain to them how fractions worked, I realized that they needed to experience fractions. We spent the same amount of time as the regular class did on fractions, but my students were able to better explain their work.
