A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with both children and adults. I am very good at establishing rapport particularly with children who are struggling and with ESL. My goal as a tutor is to give my students the skills and strategies they need to be successful and feel good about themselves as independent learners. I use a variety of engaging activities that capture the student's imagination and interest, while at the same time staying focused on their particular needs.
I am a retired Boulder valley teacher and I have taught from the preschool to college level for over 20 years. Most recently, I worked as an ESL and reading teacher. My training was modeled after reading recovery and involved one year of supervised teaching one-on-one with children who were struggling readers.
