While in high school I completed two years in a practicum that put me in a classroom working one on one with students my junior and senior years. I completed my undergraduate degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Language Arts. I taught four years of Language Arts and Reading at a small rural school south of St. Joseph, and now I am back in school obtaining my Master's in Reading Education. I also have extensive training in working with students with dyslexia.
I have always loved teaching and working with students. My mother is a teacher of almost 30 years, so I have the importance of education ingrained in me. A Little Bit About Me...

As a parent of two school-aged children I have had the oppurtunity to learn about the newest teaching methods employed by teachers at this time. We often work together on math and science. I am currently working on my teaching certification in middle school science, but have always been had excelent aptitude for mathmatics. I also substitute in the Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Fort Osage School district in which I often assist students with work that has been left for them by the teacher, whether it be math, science or english. I am also a published writer and continue to write every day.
The most important thing to remember when teaching a child new concepts is patience. All children learn skills in different ways. Some catch on quickly, others need more time.
