A Little Bit About Me...

As a history major at Western I had to read many books and an accelerated rate. Also being an English minor I gained analytical and grammatical skills to help better understand pieces of literature I had to read and I can pass those skills to other students.
I have a laid back teaching style, within the next year I plan to get my MAT so I can teach in NC. I believe that this will help me reinforce some of my teaching skills that I will use from everyday basis.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a high school junior, I was selected to attend the prestigious NC School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM). Afterward, I graduated early from UNC-Chapel Hill, receiving a BA in English with a minor concentration in mathematics. I pursued a career in information technology, most recently running Gap Inc.'s European operations. Last year, I left the corporate world to write a novel, which I completed in June 2005. Currently, I work part-time in the Swain County School's marketing department and write freelance. I was also recently awarded NCSSM's 2005 Service Award for volunteerism. When time has allowed, I have enjoyed tutoring at these levels (all subjects) through Communities in Schools and privately.
