I have worked in a school system for the past nine years and I enjoy working with students. I studied nutrition in college and have taken nutrition courses. I would like to further my talents by helping others learn new stratorgies and techniques that will futher their learning process. Depending on the age(s) of the clients, I like to focus on what will work best for them.
I like to meet my clients at a library where we have the resources to use and or borrow. I ask that you bring your text books with you and I will supply what other necessary things we may need and I like to make learning fun and exciting.

A Little Bit About Me...

Through my research experience, I’ve been required to present and teach my findings in small groups to fellow lab members, in large seminar settings to my peers and younger students across other departments and grade levels, and one-on-one settings with the principle investigators of the research group. To do so requires 3 key points: 1. Understand the audience, 2. present the material in a way based on the audience, and 3. anticipate any knowledge gaps the audience may have in order to effectively answer all questions.
Casual, one-on-one to large groups, in both academic and personal settings.

More About This Tutor...

Hello. I majored in Biology in college with a minor in Chemistry. I graduated with honors and was a tutor throughout my college career in Biology, Genetics, Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, and Microbiology. I went on to receive a Masters in Biomedical Science from UMDNJ where I also worked in the Radiation Research Laboratory exploring the Bystander effect of cells exposed to radiation therapy. I went on to explore veterinary medicine working in the Emergency Room of a 24 hour veterinary specialty hospital.
I believe that breaking down complex processes is key to understanding any aspect of Science. Pathways and processes become easier to grasp when broken down to smaller components. Repetition is key and study tools are essential. Catering to a particular student's learning style is important as we all learn at different paces and in different ways.

Organic Chemistry, Neuroscience, and More!

I graduated from Binghamton University (SUNY) in 2008 with a double degree in Linguistics (B.A.) and Neuroscience (B.S.). I am currently a doctoral student in Neuroscience at Tufts University Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, pursuing my dissertation research in a biochemistry lab studying GABA receptor structure and function. I have been tutoring the sciences since my undergraduate years at Binghamton. I have worked with students in a wide variety of coursework, ranging from linguistics (anthropological and psycholinguistic) to the harder sciences (including biology, chemistry, basic neuroscience, and experimental psychology).
