I am a firm believer in relating education to the real world. This philosophy transcends into my teaching style. I make it a mission to ensure my students understand what they're learning rather than simply memorizing it to pass a test. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a SUNY school I had the pleasure of studying with people from all walks of life. I earned a Bachelor in History which I find vital for the development of our modern world. My writing skills have been developing since my High School studies and it only prepared me for my college writing assignments. I worked in South Korea for one year teaching and tutoring student ranging from 5 years to 16 years old children. I was responsible for setting up a daily curriculum and controlling the classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored inner city youth through a program at D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY. I helped many International Graduate Students improve their English and writing skills. I worked one on one with these students to help edit thesis, statement of purpose, and essays. I have also worked with adult students who want to reduce their accents. I do this by teaching stress accents and basic English vowel sounds. I spent one year in Harbin,Chinaa teaching English to native Chinese(Mandarin students) They had a very basic knowledge of English. I taught culture, English slang and proper usage. I have been substitute teaching for 5 years. Within that time I decided that teaching was for me and went on to get my degree and certificate to teach. I have completed several long-term substitute teaching positions, picking up where a teacher left off, often times unexpectedly. I have taught classes in the elementary, middle and high school.
My philosophy is that education is power. Knowledge is our greatest defense and our greatest weapon. Through knowledge we gain experience, which enriches our competence, which protests the ills of society, which leads to a social justice, and most important, liberty. Learning is an activity that we should never stop, and if we do, we begin to die. I believe all children can learn given the appropriate avenues to success.
