Excellent English Student, Looking to help others excel

I have always been an excellent English student, including reading, grammar, spelling, and writing, to name a few. All throughout grades school, I received exceptional grades, especially in language arts and English. I have received awards recognizing my writing, speaking, spelling, and grammar. I take education very seriously and I like to instruct others so they, too, can be all that they can be in life.
The teaching style that I use has been my method of learning for the past twenty years. Memorization, creativity, and fun all help people learn better. When the work is boring, the mind shuts down and gets distracted. When learning is turned into fun, it is a lot easier for the student to remember everything that they were taught, because they can correlate that specific moment in time with what was being taught.

I have home schooled my step daughter and a friends daughter for the last couple of years. I graduated with high honors (Alpha Sigma Lambda, Magna Cum Laude from Drury University. I have stayed in the same field for 20 years and am looking forward to helping children learn how to read and write the fun way. I believe teaching should be preparation for the real world outside of school. For that reason I strive to make all assignments relevant, meaningful, and useful to the students. I try to fuel motivation by making the assignments fun and purposeful. I hold students to a high standard as preparation for future jobs (no late work, no coming in to class late, etc.) I believe every student can be reached, but that all students are at different levels and require their own amount of one-on-one help, motivation, challenge, and dedication.
