I feel that everyone has the ability to learn; but we all learn at different rates and in different ways. It is a matter of finding what works best for the learner and having the patience to get them through the fears that come with learning something new...or learning something that has not come easily. I like to use a lot of descriptive words and illustrations which I find are very helpful for many people, and I believe that much repetition is essential for retention of the material.
I received an associate's degree in accounting and I am currently enrolled at Kaplan University in the Health Sciences program. "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The life long question...I can remember responding with teaching. Life throws you curves, and I ended up in Business. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently obtained my BS in Marketing along with a minor in Animal Science from Iowa State University. I was very involved with volunteer activities as a high school student, one of which involved tutoring elementary age children in the areas of reading and writing. I have long excelled in these areas, scoring nearly a perfect in the reading and writing sections on my ACT and working in advanced english courses throughout high school. I have had a passion for reading all of my life. I pursued a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin, which I received in 1973. I have taught children of all ages and disabilities in all academic areas. I prefer working with younger students. I have been published in a national education journal, "The Clearinghouse."
