A Little Bit About Me...

I have been in the field of education for almost six years. I began in the 2005-2006 school year as a 9th grade teacher of Child Development. I decided to pursuit my Masters degree in Teching and transition into Secial Education. I am now currently teaching Social Studies (my favorite subject) to middle school Special Education students. I love the challenge of working with students with behavioral and emotional disabilities and witnessing them surmount their disability.
I liken my teaching style to that of the Negotiator. I am ultimately in charge of the lesson but I allow the children to take control of the learning. I model what is needed and then back off and become the facilitator. My classroom management style is to allow the students to see their errors and self correct. I do not believe in punitive measures or humiliation. Those tactics are counteproductive.
