A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored at Northeast Community College in Norfolk for 4 years. I tutor math, basic electricity, and AutoCAD. I was asked by my instructors to be a tutor, it's not something you can just ask to do. I was on the presidents list my last semester in May of 2015. I got a certification for tutoring by taking an online class for a couple nights.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy seeing expressions of accomplishment when students truly grasp various concepts. I expect and demand "excellence," recognizing that "excellence" is a term relative to the student. It seems to me that students retain information most successfully when it has been presented so as to be personally relevant, so I attempt to tailor examples to the student's background.
Most of my experience has been as an engineer. I have worked on projects in Europe, Asia, and all over North America. I got involved tutoring high school students while my sons were in high school. Recently, I completed an MA in Education, and taught science and math for about a year and a half in a couple of Louisiana High Schools. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with the UNL's OASIS and WHT program as a tutor for Science, Math, Calculus classes. I have tutored up to 400 level courses. I have also worked as a tutor in Mumbai India for underprivileged students where i tutored calculus, physics, biology and chemistry classes. I have worked as a tutor with UNL for about a year now and in Mumbai India i have worked as a tutor for a year too.
I like to use examples in every thing that i explain and try to relate it to situations we face daily. i believe this helps the students to understand the topic completely. i am patient with my students. i help them understand the topics not just from exams point but also, so that they remember those concepts throughout their career.
