I have been a substitute teacher for about 10 years specializing in math & physics. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering plus 20+ years of maintenance/engineering experience. I incorporate practical examples in teaching to give students in depth knowledge in a practical sense. I gather my examples from my varied career experiences from the Military, Aircraft, Engineering, Manufacturing/Maintenance & Computer fields. I sporadically tutors students in my specialty.

While pursuing my MS and PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley I was a teaching assistant for 4 years. I taught both undergraduate and graduate level classes with responsibilities including: writing and drafting a course reader from professor’s lectures; designing, organizing, writing, and compiling assignments and projects; teaching weekly lab and discussion sessions during which students worked in teams to complete long term projects; mentoring students during weekly office hours; proctoring and grading exams and projects.
