I have always loved school and learning and try to learn new things every day. After I graduated from high school I regretted the fact that I hadn't done better in math. I promised myself that someday I would go back to school and learn these skills; I accomplished this in 2005. I was very active in my children's classrooms as a parent volunteer/tutor(1:1 and group tutor- all subjects)- huge success. I obtained a BA in elementary ed with a middle school endorsement and searching for creative ways to utilize my teaching skills. I was valedictorian of my high school class. I was also good in sports and music. I went to college at Iowa State University and finished at the University of South Dakota with a major in communication disorders and a minor in psychology. I have a strong training background. I have held jobs in which I was a manager, which required me to train staff. I also taught computer classes (Microsoft, Internet, Basic PC) at Western Iowa Tech for a few years. I earned A's throughout my high school career; and I excelled in college in math, science and English, though I would no longer be comfortable teaching high-level science.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have more than 5 years experience as a substitute teacher at almost every level. I have had the opportunity to also serve as a long term substitute teacher. I also have 1 year of experience teaching at a pre-school level, 2.5 years teaching at a post-secondary level, and a semester of tutoring a middle school student. I have also taken course work in Differentiated Instruction. All of these experiences have given me the skills needed to be a successful teacher.
