I recently graduated college with a BA in Human Biology, and I am currently in the transition between undergraduate school and medical school. Throughout my years as an undergrad, I have been heavily involved with teaching/tutoring students - primarily through my participation in the Peer-Led Chemistry Teacher program. As a peer teacher, I developed many skills and abilities which have allowed me to become an effective teacher. I am grateful that I have been able to use my scientific knowledge to help educate others. I love working with children. I believe that reading is the basic building block to education. When students struggle with reading, it spreads through all subjects. Students who struggle with reading usually need a non-family member to help guide them, and they need to feel success. Without a taste of success, a student will most likely resent reading in any way. I have taught high school English for seven years. I currently hold a Master's in Reading which qualifies me to teach K-12 reading. My bachelor's degree is in English with an endorsement in Speech Communication.
