The purpose of tutoring is to help students help themselves, and to guide them to the point at which each of them becomes an independent learner, and thus no longer needs a tutor. I have been tutoring and teaching since I entered college. I have helped multiple friends of mine through difficult classes that they needed for their degree. I have held many study groups for difficult upper level math classes that my peers struggled with. I was a teacher assistant for Calculus 1 where I held the largest study group on all of campus.
