As a graduate of a private, liberal arts institution, I am sure that having a well rounded educational experience will lead to excellence for the future. I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology from Transylvania University. This degree provided with strong math a science skills. I was also a Art History minor, in which writing and analyzing skills were imperative. I am a very well rounded individual with a lot of knowledge to share. One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is seeing the progression of young students as they grow as humans and as learners. I believe each student can learn and it’s my responsibility to find how each one learns best. So much of it is about instilling confidence in the student that he or she is intelligent and capable of mastering the subject. I have been very successful at this and have often had short tutoring assignments: once we discover what is keeping a student from grasping the subject, fixing it is easy and then the student can proceed on their own with or without the help of a parent. The younger the student, the more I appreciate having the parent involved in what I am doing, and the results we are achieving, so they can actively participate with their child, especially once I am no longer needed.
