A Little Bit About Me...

I've been tutoring for the Goodwill to help disadvantaged youth, tutoring ASU students in accounting, economics and algebra. In addition, I helped a friend pass her GED. I have a Marketing BS as well as over 15 hours in accounting and German. Professionally, I have done over 18 years of sales training. A Little Bit About Me...

As an adult returning to college to pursue my Master's degree, I have earned 1 bachelor's degree, 27 graduate hours in English Literature, and a M.A. in Elementary Education. During my time in pursuing my degrees, I tutored several students and adults (in reading literacy). I also have shown a strong aptitude in math for adults in GED courses I've taught and for children in elementary school.

Generally, I'm a constructivist, and I believe the best method of tutoring is providing a completely individuated scaffold for any student. While I was raised in old-school education, I believe that some of the newer techniques of education through hands-on, the use of digital technology, and through writing across the curriculum are effective for many students.
I have two bachelor degrees, one in computer science, the other in mathematics with a type 09 cert (6-12). I belong to Mensa and the NCTM, and have excellent English and decent Spanish speaking and writing skills.
