I follow the method of G. Polya in his classic work "How to Solve It".
By asking the right questions, one can help the student define his problem, form a plan for the solution, carry out the plan, and examine the result.
I also try to work as many difficult problems from the student's text as time permits, in order to show that all problems have a solution, and the student can build confidence in attacking any problem.
I try to present the material in as many ways as needed, so that I can match the subject to the student's style of learning.
I was a senior scientist - engineer for 37 years.
I retired to care for my comatose wife at home, and she died a few months later.
This situation has left me open to new directions.
