The Student Comes First

I allow my teaching style to mold itself to each individual student, finding methods of communicating the information that best suit the learning style of my student. I favor a holistic approach to learning, believing that education should be of the whole person. I graduated from the University of West Florida in Pensacola with a Bachelors in Science in Marine Biology. I have worked as a fisheries biologist for four years before I became a teacher. I went through an intense alternative certification program that allowed me to learn two years of education into a six month period. I taught 8th grade science in Desoto County for five years. ALL STUDENTS WELCOME!

Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed.
