I believe that everyone learns in different ways and at different speeds; teaching begins with discovering the learning needs of each student. With this understanding, I believe that essentially any student can learn any subject if the curriculum is engineered to meet that student's learning needs. While the classroom encourages group learning, individual tutoring can meet the individual needs of each student. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring for four years, covering many academic subjects and ages. I have worked with four year olds, middle school students, high school students, college students, and even adults who were older than me. I have a natural gift that allows me to communicate with people from all different walks of life, which makes me a successful tutor. In addition to my strong communication skills, I also experienced a unique high school experience, so I find it easy to relate to students who prefer non-traditional methods of learning.
I believe that students learn best from teaching and therefore owning the material. A Little Bit About Me...

Since 1991, I have been tutoring and teaching children in Florida, California and Costa Rica. In addition to being a tutor, I have worked with children in many capacities from after-school program coordinator to curriculum writer and summer camp counselor and instructor. I earned my BA degree from Florida A&M University in Visual Arts and History and my Master's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in Dance Ethnography. Instructing my own ten year old daughter has also further enhanced my ability to work one-on-one with individual students.
