I believe in helping people that need help. So in college I began tutoring and started to do a bunch of community service projects. I have two years in tutoring experience. Effective, caring tutoring from an experienced tutor

I summarize my approach to tutoring with "3 E's": Enthusiasm, Engagement, and Encouragement. I try hard to make each session fun and to engage the student in seeking the solution, rather than just teaching him or her a method.

Teaching style depends on the subject, the type of material, and the student’s level and ability. The goal is to inspire a student to learn the study skills necessary to excel on their own. In a tutoring situation there is usually the immediate need (to pass a test) and the long term need to be able to succeed on their own. I try to balance these two goals but the guidance of the parents is most critical. I believe that everyone learns information at a different pace and that some information is easier to process than other information.
