For kids up to 12 years old, I use a variety of methods and instructional tools such as colorful foam and board books, coloring books, flashcards, posters, videos, audios, and games among others (some materials may be at an extra cost). Puzzles, music, drawing, and physical activity are important in a child’s world of learning through exploration and critical thinking. Kids’ lessons usually start with common vocabulary such as shapes, colors, food, family members, etc. and gradually transition to simple 2-3 word sentences after acquiring a certain amount of vocabulary.

I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. I tutored my fellow students while attending Carroll Community College in English 101 and 102 as well as Creative Writing. I help my students to ask questions about why something is this way or that way. It is not as simple as just memorizing subject matter in order to regurgitate it for the upcoming test. The purpose of teaching is to help others understand something that is known as true.
I was on honor roll in high school on a consistent basis. My best subjects were English and Writing.
