Not every method works for every child; with one exception, patience. I demonstrate and exemplify patience. If a child feels as though they are in an atmosphere where they are safe, free of ridicule and bias, then they are willing to perform. This process can be a give take scenario however. I began tutoring for a company called ClubZ back in January of 2008. This was a Title I program in Frederick County, and only a Title I school could participate. I had three students; a student in kindergarten needing reading assistance; a student in third grade needing math assistance, and a student in fourth grade needing reading comprehension assistance. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to take the "mystery" out of the subject. Math can be especially scary to students who don't have a strong foundation in general mathematics and reading comprehension. I am currently volunteer tutoring an adult friend in general math and I am proud to say that her understanding of the basic principles have increased dramatically in only a couple of sessions. I like to teach students how to take each problem apart into its seperate components.
