I really enjoy working one on one. When a student masters a skill, it is very rewarding. Every student learns differently and they have a tendency toward either kinetic, hearing or sight. If one method of learning does not work, then I have tried another until something clicks with the student. One needs to find out what pushes their buttons and gets them excited. Especially if they are sruggling and their parents are upset, the whole school experience is not fun. Learning should be fun!!

I love working with children. I especially love teaching them about science and mathematics because I find these subjects so interesting. There are few things more rewarding then seeing it all "click." I like to use diagrams and real life situations to explain subjects. After college I immediately traveled to France on a very generous scholarship from Rotary Foundation. This permitted me to live and study at a very old and prestigious university in Poitiers, France. For 1:1 tutoring my teaching style will vary depending on the individual's needs and the topic covered. I try to work at the student’s learning pace in an effort to allow the student time to comprehend and retain what is covered within the session. I am not interested in helping others learn what I know (and love) to find out later that I was "too fast" for them to use the information after the session. Covering any topic outside their natural pace is a complete waste of everyone's time.
