English is one of my top subjects! I have am certified in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I studied TESOL at the graduate level. I taught English as a Foreign Language in Mexico at a language school at all levels from children to adults. I also tutored English to orphan boys in Mexico.

I have many materials and techniques to teach Spanish or English in an engaging style that works! I love vocabulary, grammar and games! I really believe that increasing student speaking time over teacher speaking time is the key when learning a new language. I will help my students learn Spanish or English through reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises. Visuals when learning vocabulary and repeating the new words in the target language is required for the information to become part of your long term vocabulary not to mention you will feel more comfortable speaking and understanding.

My comments on tutoring English : My use of English I am good with vocabulary, grammar, and I have substantial experience in writing (technical and research papers on many non-fiction topics).

Lead the student to find the right answer himself or herself if possible.

I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help. From then on, I helped and even eventually taught my younger siblings when the current school system left them in the dust, and even helped them get a leg up and advance faster than their classmates. English is my second language. However lived in London for years where I had the chance to learn the language. Also studied medical english and used it as working as a nurse. My old next door neighbors have two children. One is a boy in elementary and one is a girl in middle school. I tutored the boy in reading and writing. He was able to read his first book on his own after a few weeks with me. I had to tutor the girl in math. she was taking algebra and was having a tough time with it. In two weeks of many meetings, she was able to pass her final exam. No matter what grade I was in, I always enjoyed going down to the ESE room and helping the special kids. I did what ever I could to help.

I have been working with kids of all ages for a long time. I love to see them learn and grow. That moment when they "get" something is magical! I spent the 2011-2012 school year teaching at a title 1 school in Collier County and have grown exponentially from it! I had several students in my class who needed special help, and half of my class were English language learners. These students have helped me to strengthen my skills and adapt to different student's styles.
I like to make teaching fun! If a student is bored they aren't going to be putting 100% into their work. I also use a positive reward system and celebrate all achievement. Even if it is minor.
