A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with children. As a matter of fact, I coached Little League Baseball for 12 years and had a blast. I believe children today need to explore various learning techniques and decide which works best for them. I have learned that one of the most effective learning tools for teachers is the ability to connect with their students. I feel like my style and sincerity is reflective in my teaching therefore; the students quickly engage and appreciate the way I show a caring respect for them. Learning for students comes natural if they feel like you really care. Nonetheless, I am a strong disciplinarian and require my students to be respectful of other children and adults.

Every teacher must recognize that individuals learn at their own pace. I try to begin at a pace that the student feels comfortable with while gradually challenging them to improve their performance. My technical background makes me a very visual person. I like to incorporate that in my instruction, using visual aides and examples. Placing student of varying levels together will aide the learning process. My three-step guide is learn—teach—perform. If a student has learned the material well enough to teach another, they are well on their way to master the subject.
