I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I have taught all grade levels but at the present time, I am teaching middle school. I have my own hands-on style in the classroom and prefer that method with the students that I tutor. Inevitably I need to teach the content required by the students' classroom teacher and have to fall back on traditional teaching methods in order to have the student become current in what is being learned at school. I am in favor of utilizing the computer as a learning tool as well as the required textbook.
