I began working in Tangipahoa Parish February of 1983. I tutored in the Migrant program When our school moved I moved to a 6th Grade class where I taught self-contained, team taught, etc. When we moved, once again, to a new school I with Mrs. Deborah Ellzey as a team-teacher. I taught Math, Science, and Social Studies. I have continued to teach with varying class situations in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade subjects and am currently teaching 5th Grade Math Enrichment. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006 wiht a degree in Psychology. While attending USM I taught a combined class Of 3rd And 4th grades. for the past 16 years I have tutor Reading, Math, History, and basic science to children in my family and community. I also substitute teach for 3 school districts.
I believe a child can learn any subject put before him/her. With the belief that a child can learn, it is my challenge to find out what style of learning best fits each child being tutored. I am certified in Elementary Education as well as Specific Learning Disabilites with twenty four years experience. I have taught first grade for three years, third grade for nine years, and special education resource for twelve years. My special education experiences includes grades 1-8, inclusion, and writing web-based IEp's.
