My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : Very Strong

I did an Undergraduate in Science with an honors in Chemistry, followed by an M.Sc. in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry. I was actively involved in Cancer Research in the Department of Biochemistry and have authored over 40 publications. Although I have expertise in Chemistry and Biochemistry, I have a passion for Math that includes Algebra 1 &2 , Pre-calculus, and Geometry.
My favorite teaching style is the classical Black Board style that may involve Power Point presentations. I am very patient with my students and like to believe that I have the capability to make every student learn.

My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : My math students exceed their class requirements.

I am the founder and president of The Learning Curve of San Antonio, a tutoring service which specializes in math/ science and test taking. I have experience working with many different types of students. On one end, I have worked with outstanding math and chemistry students from some of the best private schools in San Antonio helping them to sharpen their understanding and application of the material. On the other end, I have also helped many struggling students learn some of the harder concepts of algebra, geometry, problem-solving, and chemistry. All of my students have been able to improve their test scores and homework grades.

My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : I have experiencing teaching struggling students. I have taught TAKS prep class and Remediation classes

I have been teaching since 2004. I have taught in an inner city school ( four years) and I am currently teaching at Churchill High School (fifth year). I understand the struggle students have with mathematics. I understand the frustration when a topic is explained but understanding is not achieved. My goal in tutoring is not to make money, though I charge a fee, but I desire to provide help to students that have difficulty in math. I want to give students the tools necessary to be successful in Algebra, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. I remember my struggles in math when I was in high school and I realize the importance of clarity of instruction.
