I believe that people learn in different fashions. For example, I feel that some concepts may be better explained with tangible objects while other concepts are learned better when questioned and discussed. By exploring the different ways of learning we can find what works best for that individual and use that method as a tool for their understanding. I feel, in the past, that many of the peers I tutored not only obtained/recollected more information, but were more comfortable in a quiet, relaxed environment. I have always had a passion for helping others learn. In high school I tutored students from different schools in math. After graduating with two bachelor's degrees from the University of Minnesota I began working full time as a financial analyst for Target Corporation. At the same time, I started teaching part time at a learning center. In the past three years I have been able to help students of all ages from first grade through college. For the past year I have been teaching an ACT prep class for high school students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began my college career in the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota. During my five semesters in the program I was able to study calculus and physics. I am familiar with high school level physics and mathematics up to and including pre-calculus. After five semesters at the University I transferred to St. Cloud State University to study economics. I honed my statistical and grammatical skills by writing research papers there. During my time at St. Cloud State University I tutored at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. For three semesters there I tutored students in math up to pre-calculus (including trigonometry), statistics, economics, and physics.
