Our tutors are trained to be able to relate problems to the real world, making them concrete and simple. For example, a question may ask what is 7 times 25? This problem is abstract and challenging to some people. Thus, I rephrase it to, "If you have 7 quarters in your pocket, how much money do you have?" By making the problem more relatable to the student, the problem suddenly appears easier and less intimidating. Our tutors go through training on how to assess each student's individual learning style, and know how to adapt to each student. I try to assess the skill level of the person or persons I am teaching first. Once that is done, I proceed at a pace I feel is appropriate. If I find it too fast I try to find out from the person(s) what is unclear to address that. If that means slowing down more I will. I do want questions if something is unclear.
I have wide and varied experience across many industries. I know the nuts and bolts of accounting and finance from the basic level to the very advanced level. I have strong computer skills and have used many types of software.
