I feel that I am a natural educator. I often find my self teaching people simple tasks at work, or being called upon by friends and family members to assist them, or their children with their homework. I like to keep learning fun and interesting for all students. I believe that if you invoke an emotional response, like happiness, when you are teaching something, the pupil is much more likely to retain the information.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with children for more than 20 years, as a tutor and mentor. My profession and academic education was in business and psychology, but my passion has always been working with children. For the last 7 years, I have worked as a substitute teacher, for Lee County Schools. And for the last 5 years, I have spent my summer months traveling throughout SE Asia, volunteering time in orphanages and schools, teaching the children English.
My teaching style totally depends on the student(s) that I am working with. Not all children learn at the same pace, nor do they all have the same attention span. That said, I find that applying the “token economy” approach, in getting the children to focus on the task, is very effective. If given time and patience, children are capable of accomplishing most anything.
