Calculus I is one of my top subjects!

Throughout my life, I have enjoyed doing mathematics. It has been my strongest subject since grade school. In middle school and high school I was consistently one of the top students in my mathematics courses. In college i took 3 semesters of Calculus (I, II, and III), 2 semesters of Probability and Statistics (I and II) and College Algebra along with some more advanced courses. I volunteered to go to the math lab to help some peer students.

The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. I am proficient at Introductory Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. I have a real understanding of these subjects; I have studied and applied them in senior level collegiate courses. I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.
I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence. I am a post graduate in Mathematics. I have worked 2 years teaching High school Math in Beddingfield High School in Wilson NC, and one year teaching Math to high and middle schools in the same school system. In those school I used differentiated instruction for my students, like PPT, Accelerated math, C;assscapes,CPS, Etc. All my education is from India. I taught for 7 years in India before coming here.
