My style is what works for the person I am working with. I am opened to sharing my ideas, but listening to each individual and what works for them.
I have worked with various needy students who have been classified as learning disabled, or those who know they are in need for assistance. My teaching style is fun and engaging. You must find what engages a student. Everyone has a different learning style. My teaching style utilizes any and all manipulatives necessary to engage a student. I also review student data to determine what learning gaps exist.
I have eighteen years of experience: ten at the missle school level, and eight at the high school level. My experience includes teaching "at-risk" students from a wide variety of backgrounds and situations. I have taught sheltered, regular Pre-AP and AP. In addition, I serve as the Social Studies Department Chair. I write curriculum, build after-school tutoring programs, and design effective professional development for my teachers.
