A Little Bit About Me...

I have a passion for young children, and love being a teacher. I understand that all children have different learning styles, and believe it is my job to meet each child's needs. I am a firm believer in teaching through a hands-on approach. I believe that a firm foundation in phonics is the key to becoming a strong reader and writer. I also believe that young children are more successful in math when given manipulatives to practice concepts. I have approximately one year of experience of professional teaching working with a grant funded program at UNCP. With this program was very hands-on and interactive with the students. I worked directly with the professors in the science department.
As a UNCP alumnus, I currently hold a BS in Biology. I have tutored peers in the past during my second year at UNCP. Subjects that I am familiar are science and math. I have a lot of experience in the science field. I currently work full-time in a lab using my science degree. I’m eager to work as a tutor and use my experience to help advance someone else’s education.
