I have been actively involved in Church youth work for the past twenty years. During that time I have mentored two to three high school students per year in algebra, chemistry, biology and physics. I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I independently tutored in Physics while in my Junior and Senior year earning a Bachelors in Physics and minor in Mathematics. I have extensive Math skills and taught Calculus, all levels, at the San Antonio College for several years. It was then that I found out how much I enjoyed tutoring Calculus. I also have a Masters of Science degree awarded from the UT Health Science Center in Medical Health Physics.

My goal when working with students is to fully describe the steps necessary to solving various classes of problems, often in an outline form, for it is in learning these steps that a student becomes an independent learner. I like to work through as many examples as the student needs, gradually working them into the problem-solving process, until they are able to work a few completely on their own, or, in some way, demonstrate understanding of the material.
