I enjoy a variety of teaching settings. Whether it's a large lecture hall or one-on-one tutoring, I find the challenge of finding the best, most effective instructional methods to be very rewarding. In general, I believe that promoting critical and creative thinking through hands on, problem-based learning is a strategy that leads to student success. As a graduate student in Evolutionary Biology at Texas A&M University, I worked as a teaching assistant in undergraduate ecology and zoology labs. I found this experience to be very rewarding and went on to pursue a MA in Instruction. Since completing both graduate degrees in 2008, I have been teaching undergraduate biology at Winona State University.
