A Little Bit About Me...

As an university graduate, I was very much driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education. I have earned a bachelor degree in accounting, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math, all phases of accounting and financials. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers, along with essays in many various areas of study. During the last ten years I have mentored co-workers in excel, AP/AR along with classmate in mathematics, and cost accounting areas. A Little Bit About Me...

I love to see the proverbial light come on and the students eyes widen and they say "OH! I get it!" I've tutored a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds. I try to make mathematics fun, like a puzzle to be figured out, and remove the "hard chore" stigma which is generally hard pressed into a students mind by the time I arrive. Getting the student to believe in themselves and believe mathematics isn't a daunting task it's just difficult until you learn the tricks is my goal. I've notice most students find word problems to be most challenging so I purchased a word problem book to draw examples from which seems to help.
Prior to and during my employment with Metropolitan Community College (Between 1998 and 2007) I was a volunteer tutor with non traditional students in the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development ABE/GED program of Metro community college.

A Little Bit About Me...

For some time, I have been in other student's lives influencing their skills learning experience. As a grade school student, I worked with elementary school teachers for a couple of years, helping children in lower grade levels with math and science. Time and time again, through earning my diploma, BS in Biology and attending medical/dental school, I've invested my abilities to help students through lessons and courses that were hurdles: math, sciences, music, and Spanish.
