I'm currently a student in school who has had a wide range of experience in various different subjects, specifically working best with mathematics, science and language arts in the elementary and middle school level. I'm familiar with I've been doing my best to educate myself in as best as I can, not simply for the sole purpose of filling a resume, but for the sake of learning.
When I teach, I try my best to be open minded, and to give choices to the student, rather than follow a closed-box cookie cutter curriculum. I've found it's important to find a personal way of learning for a specific student. Variety is important, because every child learns a little differently. Some kids learn by listening, others by seeing. Some kids learn only when they're making things. Encouragement and recognition when progress is attained by the student is a great incentive.

Helping students learn and learn how to grow

I like students to be comfortable, enjoy their experiences with me as much as possible, and learn not only the material they need to study, but also habits and practices that will help them with future studies.

My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : Help with both academic and creative writing skills.

I worked as an ESL teacher in Japan for almost four years teaching people of all ages, from toddlers to senior citizens. The opportunity to live in Japan, coupled with study in university has also given me an intermediate level of Japanese. In high school I also had a position as an assistant teacher at a karate dojo, working with large groups of children of all ages. Additionally, having studied and/or worked in Japan, the UK, New Zealand and most recently Australia, I have familiarity interacting with people from wide ethnic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds and can alter my teaching style accordingly.
I have a fairly relaxed style, though I am flexible and can adjust to whatever will make the student(s) most comfortable.
