I have over 20 years experience in classroom and substitute teaching, both in Canada and in Phoenix. Teaching is my passion. I particularly enjoy working with students in grades K through 4th. However, I have experience teaching 5th and 6th grades, as well. I enjoy working with students of all ethnic backgrounds and those with particular challenges. Over the years, I have given extra help to many students after school. It is a joy to work one-on one.

I have earned a double degree, a BS in Special Education and a BS in Elementary Education. I have taught Special Education for 24 years in grades 1-8. I taught one year of Kindergarten. Students in my classes were learning disabled and mildly mentally handicapped. Classes were small with an average size of ten students at a time.

My education background began in 1990. That year I earned my AA in education from Scottsdale Community College in the area of education. In 1992 I received my BA from Arizona State University in education. I began working in the Balsz Unifed School District in 1992 and was employed as a special education teacher in the Balsz district for 12 years, and three more years in Prescott, Arizona as we had moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Prescott, Arizona. I hold Arizona state certifications in regular education K-8; special education K-12 and emotional disabilities K-12. I am highly certified in these areas and hold a bachelor’s degree (1992) plus many extra hours in the field of education with a master’s equivalency.
