Students have a gift for learning, but difficulty in applications. I have a very special way of working with children to understand underlying problems with their personal difficulties in learning, strategically show students new applications and memory skills to use to increase comprehension, thus the student understands and is motivated to learn. I make learning fun, hands-on, and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Students see progress and are intensely energetic to learn more.
I have taught AP Physics, AP Biology, Chemistry, and Ecology for 10 years, taught MG Science, 5th grade, Kindergarten and Pre-K. After my high school education, where I achieved A's in both core and elective math, I began teaching math at the elementary and high school level. I eventually broadened my scope and taught english and science, all part time. I went on to pursue my undergraduate degree and am now pursuing my MBA at Mercer University, Atlanta. I continue to teach as a passion whenever I get the opportunity to.
My style of teaching involves interesting riddles and quizzes at the beginning of each class to prepare students. I also conduct short quizzes on a regular basis to help improve students speed. I typically include illustrations and diagrams in my teaching to enhance students understanding. I am very patient with children and I make it my responsibility to help build their confidence by determining and building on their strengths and improving on their weaknesses.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with children. I try to make my lessons enjoyable for my students. I especially enjoy hands-on lessons where the students are very involved. I also like to use Constructivism in my classroom where I let my students create their own methods to solve problems. I very much want to be a positive influence in children's lives.

Florida Writes is designed to measure students' proficiency in writing responses to assigned topics within a designated testing period. Find your tutor now. Beginning in 2010, each essay was scored by one rater. In previous years, two raters were used and the scores were averaged. Prior to 2010, a student could have received a half-point score, such as 4.5; whereas since 2010, no half-point scores are possible.
