I have tutored classmates and friends throughout college and after in science and math disciplines. My younger sister struggled in school and I assisted her with all disciplines from grades K-12. I studied Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University and got my degree in four years. Classes I took included four semesters of calculus, including multivariable and differential equations, two semesters of physics, inorganic and organic chemistry, and several chemical engineering specific classes. My comments on tutoring Earth Science : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced math in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

My teaching philosophy starts out with essentialism which believes in a strong core curriculum and high academic standards. I believe it is important to have a strong foundation on which to build upon. After ensuring a strong foundation I tend to lean more towards progressivism. I believe students should be taught what is relevant today while becoming more independent learners, by utilizing problem solving skills and critical thinking. As a kindergarten teacher my DIBELS scores were the highest at the mid year assessment compared to the other two kindergarten classes. As a pre-kindergarten teacher my students scored better in both IGDI's and Bracken testing then the other classroom.
