A Little Bit About Me...

I recieved my bachelor degree which helped my develop strategies to guide children with their reading comprehension as well as math skills. I have been a classroom teacher for three years. I have experience with children ages four though fourth grade. I have taught all subjects and show enthusiam though my teaching each day.

I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework. The experience I have is with students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade. I did my student teaching in a preschool and a 2nd grade classroom. In the after school program and the student teaching experience I helped students with all school subjects including english, math, science, social studies and reading.
I pride myself on helping students have fun while learning. I believe that if a student is not enjoying themselves they will not learn. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from Tennessee Tech University, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Elementary Education. My field experience during college (practicum assignments and student teaching) allowed me to work with a broad range of children – from kindergarten to fifth grade. During my time as a student teacher in a small private school setting, I also worked one-on-one with students who needed additional assistance in math. After graduating in 1996, I opened my own tutoring service in Dickson, TN. I tutored individuals from public schools and home school in Math, Reading, and several other subjects needed until 2001. At this time I left Dickson and moved to Clarksville, TN and tutored with A+ Math tutoring intil 2006.
Seeing the look and smile on the face of a student that finally grasps a concept, or realizes they have just read on their own for the first time, OH What a Feeling!!! I take each child as their own individual knowing they have their own needs in learning a subject. I teach in several different ways as to ensure the child grasps what they need.
