My comments on tutoring Sign Language : Certified educational sign language interpreter.

Sign langugage is a visual language and can be taught in various formats. My goal is to match whichever learning style is best to accomodate the specific student.
I am in my second year as a certified/licensed sign language interpreter. I currently interperet at West Aurora High school. I also interpret at many local churchs including weekly Mass or services, religious education or children's church. I interpret for local park districts in the area from theater arts to sport activities.

Since graduating from Northern Illinois University, I have had several experiences teaching children at the elementary and middle school age. I was a nanny for a family of three for a year right after graduating. It was a wonderful experience and gave me the opportunity to create my own lessons and activities for the children. The following year I was a substitute teacher in Wisconsin for various grade levels and loved each experience. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe a great teacher needs to have proper skills and talents for teaching. I learned a lot while growing up from a great teacher; my mother. My mother was a teacher for thirty years teaching elementary grades. I learned a great teacher needs to be respectful, patient and to be able to illustrate the lesson in an easy, simple way. I try to provide simple analogies for each concept. This enables the student to grasp the concept easier and faster. In addition I help my students to learn better by asking few questions about the concept. This will help them to truly understand the lesson by using their analytical thinking.
